Bruce John Donahue

Bruce Donahue, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on August 20, 2026 at the age of 66. Born on November 11, 1959 in Bronx, New York. Bruce was the beloved son of the late James and Mildred Donahue. He was also preceded in death by his dear sister, Linda Cipoletti.
He shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bonnie. Together they built a beautiful family raising four daughters: Jennifer Vallee (Christopher), Jaime Vascovich (Eddie), Jillian Morgan (Aaron), and Brianna Donahue (Ryan). Bruce's legacy is carried forward by his eight adored grandchildren: Katie, Autumn, Tenley, Melody, Connor, Aiden, Marie, and Alister.
He was also a loving and caring brother to his siblings: Barbara Wyatt (Craig), Dennis Donahue (Lisa), Patricia McGovern (Thomas), Mary Simon (Michael), and Nancy Siegel (William). He's had a great impact on his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
An avid fisherman and enthusiastic crabber, Bruce found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life by the water. His greatest passion was undoubtedly his family, whom he cherished above all else. He took immense pride in being a father and grandfather, roles that he embraced with love, humor, and boundless enthusiasm.
He was a proud graduate of Power Memorial Academy in New York City where he ran track for many years. His love and dedication of the sport instilled in him the talent and mentoring abilities to coach his daughter's track team at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Staten Island, New York. One of Bruce's greatest accomplishments was wearing a badge as a NYPD detective. In addition to his professional achievements, he was a cherished member of the Coastal Carolina Shields and 10-13 club, organizations that reflected his enduring commitment to the bonds formed within the law enforcement community.
Bruce's life was a tapestry of love, service, and dedication, woven together by the relationships he cherished and the lives he touched. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, as they carry forward his values of kindness, loyalty, and strength.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local humane society to honor his love for animals or to Tunnel To Towers  Foundation to honor his fellow first responders. That reflects his generous heart and commitment to making the world a better place.
As we remember Bruce we celebrate a life well lived, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
A memorial will be held on August 27, 2026 with visitation at 12:00pm and a service to honor him at 2:00pm at McMillan-Small Funeral Home - 910 67th Ave. N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
