Obituary

Brent E. Davidson passed away after a long illness on March 2, 2025, at home in Longs, SC.

He was born at home, in the building by the old stone steps in Harpers Ferry, WV on November 8, 1942, to the late H. Elmer and Nan Hardy Davidson.

Brent enjoyed church, scouts, baseball and scaling the rocks of Harpers Ferry. As a child, he lettered in 3 sports and was 1st trumpet for the band at Harpers Ferry High.

Brent joined the Air Force in 1961 with 1002nd Honor Guard for Presidential flights at Andrews AFB. In 1964, he was assigned to the ACCS and traveled broadly for security duties. He retired from the 167th WVANG with more than 37 years of combined service.

Brent moved to Martinsburg, WV with his family, where he was a lineman for Potomac Edison until he was promoted to foreman in Cumberland, MD before his retirement. Brent and Anne moved to Myrtle Beach in 2004. He was passionate about serving veterans and had over 10,000 volunteer hours with the Myrtle Beach Veterans Hospital. Brent was the 2006 District Commander of the year for the American Legion of SC, 2006 Voyageur of the year for La Societe des Forty & Eight du SC and 2009 Post Commander of the Year for the American Legion SC. He organized and was first director of the American Legion Riders of SC Post 178 and 111. Brent was a Valley of Charleston 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and life member of SC Lodge 297.

Brent is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne M. Davidson; a son, Brent A Davidson (Kylene), Little River, SC; two daughters, Lauri Wasson (Bill), Martinsburg, WV, and Katie Weaver (Scott) of Timberville, VA; sister, Pam Houpt and brother, Barry Davidson, both of Martinsburg; additionally, he is survived by six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Brent is preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Davidson.

Brent’s ashes will be interned at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV, at a later date.

There will be no services at this time.
