Bonnie Lazarus

Bonnie S. Lazarus passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021.  She was born in Brooklyn, NY.  Bonnie, known by her loving family and close friends as Grandy.  She married the love of her life, Jack Lazarus, on July 27, 1960, they were married almost 61 years.  Jack and Bonnie came to Myrtle Beach in 1976 and became instant locals with their business, Myrtle Beach Grand Prix.  Bonnie was very involved in the business and then went on to become a real estate agent/broker where she met many of her still now friends.  She was an avid golfer at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, where she served on many club committees until this past February.  Though she gave a lot of her time to volunteering and community activities, she was never too busy for her family.  They were the light of her life.

Bonnie was pre-deceased by her loving mother, Anne Schumer, father, Seymour Shubkin and stepfather, James D. Hutto.

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband, Jacob “Jack” Lazarus, two children, Mark K. Lazarus and wife, Helen, and Robert M. Lazarus; 5 grandchildren, Christina L. Watts, husband Garrett, Charlotte E. Lazarus, fiancé, Brittain, Jordan M. Lazarus, Jacob Lazarus, II, and Ashton A. Lazarus; 2 great grandchildren, Garrett (Rhett) M. Watts Jr. and Emma Grant Watts, with one more on the way; brother, Ronald L. Shubkin; sister, Carol I. Shubkin; nieces, Catherine Shubkin and husband, Steve Chapman and Teresa Shubkin and husband, Simon Jones; 2 great nieces, Ella and Natalie Shubkin; & God Daughter, Zanne Rhodes. 

A special Thank You to the care givers at Embrace Hospice House and Caris Healthcare.  You were so good to “Miss Bonnie” and her family.

Visitation will be held at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24th from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 Noon, with Reverend Dr. Robert C. Wilkes, Jr. officiating. A special prayer will be given by Rabbi Doron Aizenman.
