Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of B. Gayle Mollet, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi), educator, and friend. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends after bravely battling cancer for over six years.

Born in McComb, Mississippi, Gayle grew up with a deep love for learning, which she carried with her throughout her life. She moved to Maryland, where she built a remarkable career as a lifelong educator and elementary school principal. Her passion for teaching and her dedication to shaping young minds left an indelible mark on countless students and colleagues who were blessed to know her.

Gayle married her high school sweetheart, Vic, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond of love and devotion for 52 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and unconditional support.

She found her greatest joy in the company of her family and friends. Whether it was spending time at the beach, going on vacations, or gathering for family celebrations, Gayle radiated warmth and love that made everyone around her feel special. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Gayle is survived by her devoted husband, Vic; her children, Amanda (Randy), Andrea (Nic), and Mac (Jessie); her grandchildren, Shannon, Quinn, Ailee, Ella, Rex, Harper, Ronan, Rhys; and a host of extended family members and dear friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her resilience, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those she touched.

Details regarding a celebration of Gayle’s life will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Embrace Hospice House, in honor of her legacy.  Donations can be by clicking here (under designation, please select Embrace General Fund from the drop down menu)

Her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she loved and the many lives she impacted during her incredible journey.
