Barbara Myers passed away in Myrtle Beach on the afternoon of December 10th after a brief illness. She lived to the ripe old age of 91. Barbara was born in Shepherdstown, WV to Russell and Vernice Morgan and had two siblings, Russell and Francis. She was married to Marsh Myers, Jr. for more than 60 years. They had six boys: Marsh III, Brent, Blair, Byron, Barry, and Brooks (they apparently had an affinity for the letter B). Her favorite saying when raising the boys on a farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland was, “Get out of the house and don’t come back until dinner!”. Barbara received her teaching degree from Coastal Carolina College and taught in the Horry County school system including Myrtle Beach Primary school. Special thanks to those who cared for her a Grand Strand Medical Center and Myrtle Beach Manor. A family-only ceremony will be held at St. Phillips Lutheran Church where she was a member since 1976. Any gifts should be sent to the church in the form of a donation.
