We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at McMillan-Small Funeral Home & Crematory
Amedeo “Tony” Basconi, 82 passed away May 27, 2022 at home peacefully surrounded by family. Tony was born July 6, 1939 in McComas, WV and was the son of the late Elo and Enis Sensi Basconi. Tony settled in Turnersville, NJ where he raised his family until moving to North Myrtle Beach, SC in 2004 (the land of milk and honey as he called it)
Tony was a graduate of Concord College (just barely, he famously took a job posing as a graduate 3 credits short of his actual diploma) …. he was always a self starter. He did go back to officially get those credits later that summer once his employer found out. Tony was a sales rep for many years before starting his own business as a grease fitting distributor. He loved to golf, vacation, tell endless stories, crack a joke, give, and most importantly spend time with his family.
Tony is survived by his wife of 46 years Debbie, his son Tony Jr Basconi (Michele), daughter Jackie Gladieux (Adam), and son Brian Basconi (Christie). Tony was a grandfather to Natalia Basconi, Anthony Basconi, Luciana Basconi, AJ Gladieux, Ty Gladieux, Carson Gladieux, Mila Gladieux, and one more Basconi boy to be named coming this November. Tony is also survived by his brother Jerry Basconi (Maryann), and preceded in death by is his sister Donna Bary (Louie).
