Amber Marie Westbrook, 30, went to her heavenly home October 24, 2023 after multiple organ failure. Born May 25, 1993, in Conway, SC, Amber resided with her parents, Mark and Carol Westbrook in Myrtle Beach. Amber attended Socastee and Carolina Forest High Schools. She was a Dodger's team member of the Grand Strand Miracle League Baseball, and had participated in Special Olympics and Coastal Carolina Inclusive Theatre Group. She had boundless love, generosity and compassion. She always greeted people with a contagious smile and would remember them forever. Her favorite questions were "When is your Birthday?", and "Do you have any candy?" Everyone who knew her knew how much she enjoyed swinging, listening to music, telling jokes and watching Let’s Make a Deal & Wheel of Fortune. She was an awesome big sister to her two little brothers, Matthew & Nathaniel and an amazing Aunt to her nephew Lux. Amber and her brothers made hundreds of trips to the Medical University of South Carolina since she was initially diagnosed with Leukemia in 1996. She loved them more than anything in the world. Her short life was full of daily pain and suffering with cancers, treatments, & multiple medical & psychological issues since she was two years old, but that never stopped her determination to live life to the fullest and show love and kindness to others. Amber was a member of Saint Andrew Catholic Church and found great joy as a supporter of many local charities.
Arrangements have been made for a Funeral Mass at 2pm on Friday, October 27, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home Chapel, 910 67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579, with a viewing and visitation with the family immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, Amber would have liked donations to be made to some of her favorite local charities such as Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach, GS Miracle Leagues, Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach, Help 4 Kids, SOS Care, or organizations to cure ALS in honor of her grandmother Nellie Westbrook.
One of her doctors sent this message today: “She is finally at rest. She has met Jesus and he has said ‘Well done faithful servant.’ Now the rest of us just need to figure out how to carry on without her.”
