Alice Marie Owens, 68, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2026.
Born on January 7, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, Alice was the beloved daughter of Robert and Bernadine McDonough.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Gary Owens, and her brother, Jim McDonough.
Alice is lovingly remembered by her sons, Justin Owens (Heather Owens) and Matt Owens (Jessalyn Owens). She was a devoted and proud “Gaga” to her cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Joselyn, Ellianna, and Everly, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her siblings MaryJo Husband, Robin Antonini, Mark McDonough, Patty Martin, Jeanne Bray, Ann Satterly, and Peggy Spyhalski, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Alice dedicated her life to being a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home where family always came first. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, making memories that will be treasured forever. She loved relaxing in the sunshine at the beach, where she felt closest to God and found peace in the beauty of His creation.
Her home reflected her nurturing spirit, filled with thriving plants that she lovingly cared for and creative projects that showcased her artistic heart. Alice had a remarkable gift for connecting with others. She truly never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, quickly turning new acquaintances into lifelong friends. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine interest in people left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Alice’s gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and joyful outlook on life will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Kentucky this fall. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Alice’s life, share cherished memories, and celebrate the love she gave so freely.
