Alexander Gonzalez

On October 2, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York Alexander Gonzalez came into this world.

Sadly, on August 5. 2026,  after a difficult and well fought illness we lost that shinning star.

Alex’s love of music and his God given talent for it, stayed with him and fueled him his entire life. Through the years it was evident, the more he gave to the music, the more it gave back to him.  With his band of childhood friends, that music led him to Myrtle Beach.

Since the 1970’s Alex has been a profession singer/musician and true entertainer, playing his music and loving life. When the rest of us would say “I’m going to work” he would say “I’m going to play” – And played he did, and we loved it.

He was a wonderful son to his parents, Higinio and Floripe, who he is now re-united with above.

The kind of brother we all would want to have to his sisters Elaine (Fernando) and Lillian (Terry).

He loved his nieces and nephews and was definitely the “cool” Uncle.

Alex so sadly leaves behind his proud and loving wife of 48+ years, JoAnn. She will forever keep him with her, till they meet again. He was the love of her life and she was his.  It was a love story, a true blessing to have each other.

        To a wealth of extended family and friends, who loved and will greatly miss him

                        Let’s remember his smile and keep a song in our hearts….

                     Christian Prayer Service will be at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach Chapel

                                           Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm

                                       Visitation following the service till 6:00 pm.
