Adaline Beck (Sharp), age 95, formerly of Altoona, PA passed away November 16th in Myrtle Beach, SC where she has lived since 2023. She was born in Barree, PA and was the daughter of George and Blanche Sharp. Her husband, Raymond Beck passed away in 2022. Addie is survived by 5 of her children -- Ronald of Loris SC, Karen (Robert) Morris of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cathy (Greg) Meloy of Loris, SC, Vicki (Mark) Martin of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Amy Beck (Brice Thelen) of Halstead, KS, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Her son, David passed away in 2019.
Shortly after Ray and Addie married, they moved to the Baltimore area where they settled and started their family. When her husband accepted an overseas assignment on Okinawa in the 1960’s, Addie followed with her children. They lived overseas for 3 years before returning to MD.
Addie was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake (especially for the holidays). She loved to sew, knit, crochet, and quilt, providing treasured keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. After her husband retired, the couple built their dream log house in Altoona, PA, doing a lot of the finish work themselves. In addition to tracking her genealogy, Addie began to paint and to make dollhouses and miniatures and could be seen around local craft fairs selling her creations.
She was buried in Alexandria, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor (140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 640, Columbia, South Carolina 29210).
