Myrtle Beach, SC: Edward Jenkins Wages, 65, husband of Melody Wages, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 29, 1945 in Charleston, SC, the son the late Lawrence and Alma Graham Wages. He was a retired veteran of the US Marine Corp serving in Vietnam. He was the manager of the National Riffle Association Shooting Range. Survivors including his wife are: one son: Scott Wages of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at a later date in Arlington national Cemetery. I had the privilege of serving as caregiver to Major Edward Wages USMC retired. I was with the major for approximately four years. Helping him with some of his needs, due to a stroke he had suffered. Ed shared some of his life with me.Growing up in the Myrtle Beach area and his service in Vietnam. We became close friends. I and his many friends will miss him.May he rest in peace.
