George E. Spyropoulos
George E. Spyropoulos, 91, passed away at his home August 16, 2017. He was born January 30, 1926,
in Sellasia, Laconias, Greece. He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Eustratios George and Presbytera Aggeliki Spyropoulos. He was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Board of Sts. Constantine and Helen in Washington, D.C., and was a founding member of St. John the Baptist in Myrtle Beach.
He served in the Army Air Force from 1944 to 1946 and was wounded in action in Germany.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina and Georgetown University School of Law. He practiced Law for many years in Washington D.C. specializing in Real Estate and Immigration. He and his wife Beverly retired to Myrtle Beach in 1987.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Ann Suraci Spyropoulos, sister Athena Yachnis of Alexandria, VA, brothers, Paul of Englewood, FL, Chris of Madison, AL, Nicholas of Bedford, England, and sister-in-law Elizabeth J. Hand. He was predeceased by his sister Evangeline and his brother Constantine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate his life at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.
