Sharon Johnson Armeen

Obituary

Sharon Johnson Armeen,61, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 3, 1955, a daughter of the late Robert William and Nannie Louise Porter Johnson of Charlotte, NC. She also was pre-deceased by a son, Adam.

Following high school, she attended Southeastern Financial Institute where she studied business. She married the love of her life and best friend Ronnie Armeen, whom she had met and became sweethearts with in high school. They knew each other over 46 years and built a beautiful life together raising their children and managing their numerous businesses. Sharon served as Executive VP of Eastway Lock & Key and Security Systems of Charlotte, SHA-RON Investments, LLC, and Coastal Contract Hardware, Coastal Overhead Doors, and Eastway Lock & Key of Myrtle Beach. Her true passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She made being a “Mimi” look so easy but she put so much time into planning to ensure they experienced the best. Jordan-her “joy” and Kade-her “boy” that adds sparkle to her life, will always have so many fond memories of the time they shared. During her illness, she was blessed with a new grandson, Aiden Armeen. She beamed as she held him for the first time. One of her greatest sorrows is that she would not be able to spend the time with Aiden as she did with the rest of her grandchildren. The Lord did make possible the opportunity for her to hold him and rock him this fourth of July.

Sharon loved the Lord and was a true example of a Christian. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte and Ocean View Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach. At Ocean View Baptist she worked with the KidStuf Program, served on the Scholarship committee, director of Grief Share ministry, and with her daughter, Shane, and family, ran the Backpack Lunch Program supporting Myrtle Beach Primary School.

She suffered the worst possible loss…that of a child…her beloved Adam. Then turned that sorrow into efforts to help others through her Grief Share Program at Ocean View Baptist.

Memories of Sharon could go on forever but they wouldn’t be complete without mentioning how much she enjoyed shopping!! Her sister friends loved sharing these times and their many cups of coffee and conversations associated with them. She loved to share laughter with those around her. Her kind, caring, positive, compassionate spirit will be missed by so many. She made us want to be a better person. Heaven has surely gained one of the best.

Our efforts to fully portray Sharon’s kindness and character won’t be adequate, but if you knew her, you will know the rest of the story!

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Armeen, daughter and son-law, Shane & Rich Lundy of Myrtle Beach, son and daughter-in-law, Patrick & Mary Catherine Armeen of Charlotte, grandchildren, Jordan Gates, Kade Lundy and Aiden Armeen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe & Valerie Armeen of Belmont, NC, special friend, Tami Seaborn, beloved lap dog & protector, Toby. She is also survived by aunts and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be 5:00PM-7:00PM, Tuesday, August 22nd, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, August 23rd at Ocean View Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, SC, with Rev. Steven Cromer, Rev. Jerry Robertson and Rev. Tommy Moore officiating. A committal service will be 2:00PM Thursday, August 24th at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.

Memorials may be made to 836 Ministries/Coastal Recovery Center, 1113-44th Ave N. # 100, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Sharon. The loss of our dear loved ones can be very difficult and distressing to cope with. True comfort comes in knowing that God is not the cause of our pain, suffering, and death. May you be comforted in knowing that God hates death and promises to eliminate death forever and bring back the dead to life on a cleansed earth. Isaiah 25:8 says:" He (God) will swallow up death forever, and God will wipe away the tears from all faces". May your own good and loving memories of Sharon help to soothe your hearts, as we remember that our dear loved ones now safely rest in the loving memory of our God, waiting for the fulfillment of his promised purpose for us all.
