John Randolph Brogdon

Obituary

John Randolph Brogdon, 91, passed away Monday, April 09, 2018.

He was born February 13, 1927, in Brogdon, SC, a son of the late Allard M. and Sudie Stukes Brogdon.  He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Ropp Brogdon.

Mr. Brogdon was manager of Myrtle Beach Lumber Company and retired as Vice President of Purchasing for Pelican Building Company.    He was an Elder and Deacon Emeritus of Faith Presbyterian Church.  He also was a former Elder and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church where he taught junior high boys Sunday School Class.  John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Rann Perry (Arthur) of Ladys Island, SC, Barbara “Babs” Brogdon Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, John “Johnny” Brodgon Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, four grandchildren, Colonel William H. Bestermann III (Erica), John Randolph “Jay” Bestermann (Jennifer), Randall Thomas Lok, Kindel Thomas Bolick (Mark), his sister-in-law, Dorothy S, Ropp of Columbia, SC; eleven -great-grandchildren; eleven nieces/nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Faith Presbyterian Church.  A private family burial will be in Manning, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, 805-79th Avenue N., Myrtle Beach, SC. 29572.
