Stephanie N Mikolajczyk
Stephanie N. Mikolajczyk, 91, passed away peacefully at Myrtle Beach Manor in Myrtle Beach, SC on January 12, 2018. She was born in Salamanca, New York, a daughter of Gregory and Julia Nieciecha. She graduated from Salamanca High School, was married to Leo A. Mikolajczyk on September 25, 1948, and they moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1952.
Stephanie was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church for over 65 years, and she and Leo were instrumental in helping build the present-day St. Andrew Catholic Church and School. She was a member of the church Choir and Women’s Club, she served on various church committees, and she participated in St. Andrew Bible Study groups. Stephanie was employed as a telephone operator at GTE for 15 years, she was an active member of the Myrtle Beach High School Booster Club, and she enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Mother. Most of all, Stephanie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be lovingly remembered for her giving heart, her gentle spirit, her strong Catholic faith, and all the countless ways she unselfishly loved and cared for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leo A. Mikolajczyk; her infant son, Thomas Mikolajczyk; and her 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Mikolajczyk; four sons, Jim Mikolajczyk (Debbie) of Panama City, FL; Richard Mikola (Denni) of Ormond Beach, FL; David Mikolajczyk (Kathy) of Murrells Inlet, SC; Michael Mikola (Amy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; twelve grandchildren, Kim Stengel (Glenn), Kelly Penley (Matt), Courtney Penley (Mark), Morgan Insley (Isaac), Madison Mikolajczyk, Macy Mikolajczyk, Mallory Mikolajczyk, Merrill Mikolajczyk, Christian Mikola, Holden Mikola, Chloe Mikola and Leo Mikola; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Stengel, Abigail Stengel, Reagan Penley, Hayes Penley, Kennedy Penley and Madison Penley.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, followed by burial at Ocean Woods Cemetery in Myrtle Beach.
