Rowland John Trew

Rowland John Trew, 70, passed away quietly in his sleep on the morning of September 8, 2018, at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, surrounded by his wife and the love of his two children.

Born on July 1, 1948 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, to parents John Brickley Trew and Marjorie Isobel Trew (Thomson).  Mr. Trew was a respected leader and friend to many people around the globe.  After several decades working in finance in his native homeland of Canada, he and his family moved to Myrtle Beach in 1995 to begin a new life in a town they loved.  He worked for the Burroughs & Chapin Company for many years as a Certified Public Accountant before taking up positions at the Housing Authorities of Florence and Spartanburg.  He was proud to serve the needs of others in both his professional and personal lives.

He is predeceased by his parents, as well as two brothers, Michael and John. He is survived by his wife Susan Mary Trew (Fawthrop); his children Matthew John Trew and Michaela Mary Trew; his brother Richard Brickley Trew and his wife Aileen; his sister Susan Bradley and companion Dan; and so many beloved family members and friends.

Burial and Celebration of Life services will occur on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.  Details will be provided at a later time.

The family will also celebrate the life of Rowland John Trew in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Please join us for a luncheon to share stories and remember a life lived to the fullest.

I had the opportunity to work with Rowland for many years at B&C and always appreciated that he treated everyone with respect and I enjoyed his sense of humor. He spoke often of his famiy, who seemed very much a source of pride and joy for him.
