Richard A. DiDonna

On April 1, 2019, Richard A. DiDonna passed into eternal rest at home surrounded by his family.

Richard was bron in Albany, New York on May 30, 1957 to Ralph and Bertha DiDonna, who predeceased him.

Richard worked for several decades at the NYS Thruway Authority, where he met his beloved wife Michelle.  They were enjoying retirement in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina until Richard was struck with cancer and taken too young.

Richard is survived by his wife Michelle; son Brian; brothers Robert (Linda), Michael (Ellen), and Stephen (JoAnna); sisters Mary Ann and Margaret; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Calling hours will be Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N., Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

I was so sad to hear that Richie had passed away. On behalf of Arlene and myself our deepest sympathies to you Michele and your family. Rich was a great guy and he will forever be remembered by me personally. God bless all of you.

Michele and Brian, please accept our deepest sympathies. We were saddened to hear of Rich’s passing but know God is still on the throne and will comfort and give you peace. Marie and I both had the fortunate pleasure of working with Rich for a number of years. Rich was a great guy and will be missed by so many.

My deepest sympathy and condolence to Michelle and Brian. Brian, you are the man of the house now. Take care of your Mom.
Rich was far too young.

You are missed at the Thruway Authority. I miss you. Your pressence made each day more pleasurable for the few years I was fortunate to work along side you. Your spirit raises those around you. Your knowledge and network of friends is extraordinary. I regret not having the opportunity to endearingly call you Mayor DiDonna one last time.
