Keith E. Seconde

Keith E. Seconde

Keith E. Seconde, 84, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2019.  He was born July 22, 1934 in Newark-Notts, England, the son of the late Gordan and Elizabeth (Hague) Seconde.

Keith was born and raised in Newark, England.  While living in England he worked various jobs including Rolls Royce aero division & Ford Motor Co. Then in 1966, he decided to cross the pond with his young family where they settled in Wisconsin for a short period. Finally settling in Schenectady working with General Electric as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years where he was awarded a patent.

In his free time, Keith loved to golf, hence the move to Myrtle Beach, SC. He also loved to watch English football and was an avid Notts Forest supporter. With his beautiful wife Eileen by his side, they traveled the world. One of his absolute favorite places to visit was Cape Cod, MA, where they would spend weeks with the extended family.

But more than anything, Keith enjoyed time spent with his family. He was known to tell the grandchildren and great grandchildren tall tales; no, he never rode a jackalope, there were never giraffes housed at the Rotterdam Mall, and he was not a cowboy singer with Keith and the cowboys.

Keith is predeceased in death by his parents & brothers Maurice and Gordon. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eileen (Cooke) Seconde; daughters, Jayne (Andrew) Lombardi , Joanne (Lee) Wormuth; a son, Martyn (Louise) Seconde; grandchildren, Tera Buckley, Kristen Lombardi, Amy Quinlan, Daniel Partington , Sarah Vihnanek , Keith Seconde, great grandchildren Aaron and Madison Buckley, Natalie and Anna Quinlan and Carter Partington. Also surviving is his brother, Ian (Janet) Seconde, along with many nieces and nephews .

Dear Eilee,

Our thought and well wishes to you at this very sad time. Our most sincere condolences to you and your family. Keith was one of the very first gentlemen I met and worked with at GE in 1988. We worked closely together for many years and seriously enjoyed our standing Wednesday golf matches in Amsterdam. It was the highlight of every work week during the golf season.
My memories of Keith are numerous and come to mind often. The Lunch we shared in MB at the Captains Quarters a few years ago is a fond memory that added to many that came before of a fine man blessed with a loving family, good humor, integrity, intelligence, wit & a charm that only an Englishman could own.

God bless him.
