Edmund “Mr. Ed” Brown, 71, died Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Born February 4, 1948, he was a son of the late John J. and Dorothy (Mullen) O’Connell.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; a son, Michael (Krissy) O’Connell; daughters, Heather Brown and Jennifer (Kevin) Petruzzello; & 8 grandchildren.

Ed Retired from Nynex after 34 years of service with them and the former New England Telephone. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 48 years, & was a lifetime member. He was a D.J. for many private events for over 30 years, and was a bartender at the Elks Lodge in Murrells Inlet. Most of all, “Mr. Ed” will be remembered at the New England Patriots #1 Fan!

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Monday, November 4, 2019 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

Irene, we just learned about Ed last night. We are so very sorry and sad we missed his funeral. He was such a wonderful person and this was truly heartbreaking to hear. Ed was always so nice, caring and thoughtful. Always so friendly. We thank him and you for all those wonderful times we so truly loved and the happiness you provided us. I will miss Ed’s weekly Sunday phone calls. I am his wine rep and whether, or not, the club needed product he would call just to leave a “positive message”.

Our Hearts are deeply saddened to hear of Ed’s passing ! Big hugs to Irene and family. Ed always treated us like family and like a Big Brother . We are so sorry for your loss. Ed was a very special person. He made friends easily and we are glad to have been two of them. He will be missed. The Elks will not be the same without him, especially on Thursday nights.
