Barbara Jones Johnson

Barbara Jones Johnson

Conway, SC

Barbara J. Johnson, 78, passed away on April 17, 2019 at Conway Medical Center. She was born on June 27, 1940 in Washington, DC and was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Raymond Jones.

Barbara worked for the Department of Agriculture in her younger years, then spent 23 years as a Medical Assistant. She was a long-time member of Celebration Presbyterian Church which was very important to her.

Barbara's hobby was gardening, and she took great pride in her yard. But her biggest pride was her family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren. She spent every moment of her life showing her family how much she loved them. In return, she was loved more than she could ever know.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Johnson, her son Robert Johnson, her daughter Lisa Hill and her daughter Kelly Mitchell. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Barbara was a wonderful "Mom" and "Nana" who will forever be loved and missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 22, 2019 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Dear Johnson family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Barbara. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. May God give you and your family comfort in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they are resurrected. With deepest sympathy and warmth of heart.

Barbara was a lovely woman. My aunt had her home across the street from her. I would take care of her home during the summer. I enjoyed chatting with Barb when I saw her outside working in the yard. She was a very kind and generous lady. I also admired her yard which was beautiful with all the flowers. My aunt and I wanted to say good bye when she sold her house but she wasn't home when we stopped. I will miss her. May she rest in peace. I will never forget her. Michele

Maureen and I are very sorry for your loss.
Barbara was a wonderful neighbor and we had fun with her chasing the geese. We will miss her.
