Terry Lynnwood Gift

Master Sgt. (Ret) Terry Lynnwood Gift, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Born on February 14, 1939, in Mt. Briar, Maryland, to Charlotte Drenner and Leonard I. Gifft. Terry led his life by dedication and service to his country, love for his family, but most of all, to his Lord and Savior above.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Margaret Gift.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Ann, and the children they cherished, Rick Gift (Lisa), Ronny Gift (Barb), Rob, two stepdaughters, Tina Thompson and Tammie Thaggard; grandchildren, Tim Gift, Paul Gift, Matt Gift, Terry Gift, Justin Gift, Paul Knight, Brandon Christian, Macayla Thaggard and Joshua Thaggard. Also surviving are his beloved great grandchildren.

Terry’s career began in 1957 when he joined the Army National Guard. He then joined the United States Air Force in 1958 and retired in 1979. Terry taught JROTC in Nevada, MO from 1979 - 1981, Denton, TX from 1981 - 1982 and took a position at Socastee High School from 1982 - 1999. He retired in 1999 from the JROTC.

Funeral services are planned at Forestbrook Baptist Church, 2051 Forestbrook Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588, beginning at 1:00 PM for the viewing and service to begin at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, SC.
