Jamie W Lanteigne
Jamie W Lanteigne

Jamie “Jim” W. Lanteigne of North Myrtle Beach SC, formerly of Leesburg, VA and Hartford CT, peacefully passed away July 5, 2017, at MUSC in Charleston, SC after a brief and courageous battle with kidney failure and pancreatic cancer. He was 58.

Born in Hartford, CT on September 23 1958, he was the son of the late Joseph “Luke” W. Lanteigne and Dolores “Dell” Holmgren Lanteigne. He was also predeceased by his brother Gary M. Lanteigne and sister Donna G. Lanteigne.

Mr. Lanteigne attended the University of Connecticut. Upon completion of his education, he began what would amount to an impressive 37 year career with Travelers, where he was a Senior Systems Administrator.

In 1996, Jim took a transfer to Virginia, where he met his beloved wife, Kathleen “Leena” Lanteigne (Milligan). The couple married on April 17, 1999 in Canterbury, CT, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. He was a devoted and loving husband to Leena, a nurturing and providing Dad to Brianna Kathleen Moran and Shannon Michelle Moran, and a proud and greatly loved “GeeGaw” to his two grand children, Jamison Ford Moran and Abigail Rose Moran.

In addition to his wife, daughters and grand children, Jim is survived by sister in law and brother in law Laurie Ann Harrell (Milligan) and Henry Harrell of Maryland, sister in law Marlene Lanteigne, nephew Jeffrey Lanteigne, niece Michelle Lanteigne, great-niece Emilie Alvarez of Connecticut, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Jim was an avid fan of the New York Giants, Boston Red Sox and the Kentucky Derby and enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He and Leena liked attending live sporting events, going to concerts and movies, and just spending precious time together. Their favorite place to be was at the beach and in December 2015, the couple, daughter Shannon and grandchildren made their dream of living near the beach a reality. Most evenings, Jim and Leena could be found admiring the waves. Jim was totally captivated by the ocean – the sound, sight, scent – he loved it all. During the day, he was often spotted driving his golf cart around town, greeting others with his award-winning smile.

At his request, Mr. Lanteigne's ashes will be scattered upon the ocean he so loved, during a Memorial Service on August 7, 2017. Family and friends will set voyage from Murrell's Inlet, SC. An additional Memorial Service will be held in Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to Jim's Medical Fund reached on /www.gofundme.com/jim-lanteignes-medical-fund

What a lovely and loving tribute to Jim. How fortunate you both were to connect, and to be together for as long as you were. I\'m especially sorry now that I never met Jim in person, only on AOL and FB; he was a special person.
