Ann Boyd Ward, 85, wife of Tobias G. “Toby” Ward, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 7, 1931 in Salisbury, NC a daughter of the late Louis Miller and Ann Rodgers Boyd.

Ann grew up in Salisbury, NC and spent her summers at the family’s home in Myrtle Beach. It was in Myrtle Beach that she met the love of her life, Toby, in June of 1950 at Spivey’s Pavilion, and they were together ever after.

She attended Furman College and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Myrtle Beach. She was a homemaker and loved her family and friends. Her warm smile and peaceful demeanor are already missed.

Survivors including her husband are: one son, Toby Ward, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth of Columbia, SC; one daughter, Tara Howser and husband, Bob of Myrtle Beach, SC; one brother, Fred Daniel Boyd of Salisbury, NC; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1367, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Toby and Tara, I am saddened by the grief you are feeling. Ann was a delight to all who knew her. She always had a positive attitude and a ready smile. She will be missed by many. I will continue to lift you up in prayer that God will give you peace and comfort.
